Factory poverty-spec blanks crack with age, discolor in the sun, or get pried out and lost during stereo and alarm work. Once they're gone, dealers don't stock them anymore. Poverty Buttons makes exact-fit replacements in ASA, so your dash looks factory-correct again.
Two parts live so far, both replacements for pieces that crack, fade, or go missing on the 1982–1991 944 / 944 Turbo / 944 S2 dash. More fitments go into tooling as requests come in below.
The 944 is part one. Tell us what you drive and what broke, faded, or went missing, and we'll add it to the queue for tooling. Priority goes to the cars we hear about most.
It's slang for a car ordered with the fewest factory options: the trim built to hit a price point rather than a spec sheet. Those cars still came with the switch bank fitted with blank plates instead of working switches. That's the part we replace.
Yes. Poverty-spec cars ship with these blanks pre-installed from the factory. Ours are replacements for when the original cracks, discolors, or gets pried out and lost (common during stereo, alarm, or console work), not a first-time install. Dealers generally don't stock these anymore.
ASA is an engineering-grade plastic chosen for UV stability and heat resistance, so it holds up in a dash under sun and sits flush with no warping. Weight-matched to the original switch panel so it doesn't rattle. Available in a smooth surface or a textured surface matched to OE switch-panel grain, so it doesn't look or feel like an aftermarket part once it's clipped in.
The 944 blank fits the factory switch bank on 1982–1991 cars without modification. Driving something else? Use the request form above. We're tooling new fitments based on demand.
In-stock 944 blanks ship within 3 business days. Bulk orders over 10 units may take slightly longer, and you'll get an email if that's the case.
If a blank doesn't clip into your switch bank cleanly, send a photo to blanks@povertybuttons.ca within 30 days and we'll sort out a replacement or refund.
